Ready to become an Aggie Engineer?

Learn about the Texas A&M University College of Engineering programs to find what makes receiving an education in Aggieland so special!

About the College of Engineering

Despite the complaints on how many hours engineers stay awake working on their classes, we still like to have some fun sometimes. The workload for this degree while also having an enjoyable time in college requires a great balance. To ensure that you are getting your money’s worth in regards to your college education, but also with your college experience, I highly recommend developing some time management skills to have time for work…and play!

If staying late in ZACH or Evans for weeks on end causes your study group to burn out, have a day on the weekend dedicated to changing your setting or just having fun! I enjoy meeting up with friends to work in a coffee shop to not only change my setting for productivity but doing so also gives me the chance to try new drinks and pastries with a friend I may not study with often.

Coffee Shops to Study At:

  • Polite Coffee at Kyle House in Bryan
  • POV Coffee
  • Harvest Coffee at Century Square
  • Sweet Eugenes (a classic!)

When midterms and lab reports can cause a lot of stress, the best way to celebrate afterward is by having fun at an event in town. Sporting events are always a great way to cheer on our teams, but also provide a way to have fun in a non-academic setting! Some other great events to explore within the area include First Friday, where there is live music, vintage pop-ups, and lots of great items to purchase from local artists and business owners. Speaking of vintage pop ups, they typically happen on a weekly to semi-weekly basis at some of the coffee shops mentioned above! It is a great way to score some vintage A&M merch while meeting other college students with a similar style.

Events that happen around town worth exploring:

  • Football Games (Gig ‘Em!)
  • First Friday in Downtown Bryan
  • Vintage Pop-Ups that occur weekly
  • Axe Throwing to let off some steam

If releasing stress works best through a more mobile activity, the CSTAT/Bryan area has a great variety of options with a golf driving range such as Big Shots, but also Axe Throwing! With three recreational centers on campus, working out is a great way to spend your time away from the books. Why not invite your peers and develop a workout group that helps out each other not only academically but also physically?

The time you spend at A&M Engineering not only has the potential to be filled with exciting discoveries and development with your education, but it also has the potential to be a great time for the development of friendships, memories, and yourself. What will you do with your time here?
